Tiffany & Co. seeks Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Cumberland, USA. Lead CNC operations, 3-5 axis programming, and precision production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Establish efficient operation sequences and economical manufacturing and tooling methods across precision CNC operations
- Develop and maintain robust CNC machine programs with clear operator instructions for multi-axis milling centers (3-, 4-, and 5-axis) and multi-axis turning centers with live tooling
- Collaborate with CAD developers to integrate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles into product designs
- Design, validate, and implement workholding fixtures that enable safe, repeatable, and efficient production runs
- Partner with engineering teams to define and achieve product tolerances and manufacturing requirements
- Create, maintain, and optimize product tooling lists, including cutting tool selection and machining strategies
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and manage transitions into production, including approval of machine-ready prints, first production builds, and operator training
- Evaluate manufacturability and recommend design or process improvements to enhance quality, cost, and throughput
- Drive R&D initiatives to evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, automation, tooling, and processes
- Serve as technical mentor and subject matter expert, providing proactive guidance on manufacturability, risk mitigation, and process standardization
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with strong CNC machining background
- Extensive experience in programming, fixturing, tooling, documentation, inspection, and training
- Hands-on expertise in setup, programming, and operation of 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling equipment
- Setup, programming, and operation experience with multi-axis turning centers
- Expertise in CAM programming (Mastercam preferred) and CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with micromachining and familiarity with Fanuc and Siemens machine controls
- Expertise in metrology and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Demonstrated ability to bridge design, engineering, and manufacturing teams
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of direct CNC machining experience, with demonstrated expertise spanning programming, fixturing, tooling, documentation, inspection, and operator training. Proven track record in precision manufacturing, new product introduction, and production scaling in a technical leadership capacity.
Education
BSME (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering), BSIE (Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering), or equivalent degree preferred.
