Tiffany & Co. seeks a Senior Fixed Assets Accountant in Whippany, NJ to lead US & Canada fixed asset accounting, month-end close and global JDE E1 onboarding.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day North America fixed asset accounting: capitalization, transfers, splits, disposals, accelerations and impairments in compliance with company policy and applicable accounting standards.
  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger—record asset costs, accumulated depreciation, depreciation expense, start dates and useful lives—and execute monthly depreciation calculations and postings.
  • Prepare capital expenditure accruals, fixed asset roll-forwards and reconciliations to the general ledger and capital projects database; provide clear variance explanations and commentary.
  • Analyze Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuations related to fixed assets, prepare consolidated Balance Sheet slides for financial reviews and contribute to month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
  • Review internal software and cloud computing arrangements for appropriate accounting treatment under applicable guidance (e.g., IAS 16 where relevant) and support tax and audit requests related to PP&E.
  • Act as primary global contact for international Finance teams on fixed-asset matters; maintain and update standard operating procedures and the core model for markets onboarding JDE E1.
  • Serve on project teams for JDE E1 market onboarding—review system setup, lead training, participate in testing and support go-live and hyper-care activities.
  • Submit taxonomy reporting to the LVMH Group and partner with FP&A, Global Store Development, IT and other stakeholders to track Construction in Progress (CIP) and project go-live dates.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives to reduce manual calculations and support system upgrades and enhancements as the fixed-asset subject-matter expert.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent
  • 4+ years of public and/or private accounting or related experience, with direct fixed asset accounting exposure
  • Practical knowledge and application of IAS 16 (Property, Plant and Equipment) and related technical accounting guidance
  • Excellent oral, written and analytical communication skills with strong organizational and time-management capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong general PC skills; willingness to work flexible hours during closings and special assignments
