Tiffany & Co. is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for a permanent role in Whippany, New Jersey. The position supports facilities operations, service requests, meeting and event setups, equipment repairs and preventive maintenance, inventory, and workplace safety; the hiring range is $26.00–$31.00 per hour, depending on relevant skills and experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Respond to and complete applicable facilities service requests.
- Set up and take down audiovisual equipment and furniture for meetings and events; maintain meeting rooms and their equipment.
- Police exterior grounds and maintain, clean, and service the building, grounds, and general facility equipment.
- Maintain daily copy paper inventory in building copy areas and supply and install paper, toner, and related materials.
- Relocate personnel and equipment weekly as needed.
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of equipment and supplies that support safe operations.
- Assist with repairs and preventive maintenance of HVAC and related electrical, mechanical, material-handling, warewash, and general facility equipment.
- Provide the Facilities Dispatcher with daily updates on assigned work-ticket status, parts and materials used, and work performed.
- Maintain parts inventory and order materials required to complete assignments.
- Respond to users’ hot/cold requests and implement corrective actions using the Building Management System.
- Test and inspect emergency and life-safety systems to meet NFPA, OSHA, and other agency standards; log readings for boilers, compressors, dust collectors, steamer generators, exhaust fans, and related equipment.
- Align facilities activities with strategic corporate sustainability programs.
- Follow safe work procedures and site safety requirements; promptly report incidents, safety issues, hazardous conditions, unsafe behaviors, accidents, injuries, and near misses to a supervisor.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and tools, safe working postures, and material-handling techniques to prevent injury.
