Tiffany & Co. seeks Legal Counsel, Brand Protection in New York to lead brand enforcement across the Americas. Hiring range $148,325–$190,000.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive brand protection and enforcement strategies across the Americas in coordination with the Intellectual Property team.
- Lead and conduct investigations into counterfeit and infringing activities to support civil and criminal enforcement.
- Design and run online surveillance and takedown programs across websites, marketplaces, social media, phishing sites and sponsored ads.
- Assess and liaise with technology service providers to select and implement effective enforcement tools and platforms.
- Manage strategic relationships with customs authorities, law enforcement agencies and online marketplaces to disrupt illicit trade.
- Draft and send cease-and-desist letters and coordinate all enforcement communications with internal stakeholders.
- Manage and supervise outside counsel handling C&D letters, civil litigation and criminal actions in the Americas.
- Support IP prosecution tasks including trademark clearance, renewals and basic prosecution work when needed.
- Develop and deliver anti-counterfeiting training for retail teams, external agencies and authorities.
- Supervise matter management and tracking, prepare enforcement activity reports and analyse trends to set team objectives.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and educational events with trade associations and advocacy groups.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York or New Jersey.
- 6–8 years of professional legal experience in a law firm, in-house legal department or brand protection team; a mix of law firm and in-house experience preferred.
- Proven experience handling brand protection matters in a retail environment strongly preferred.
- Outstanding legal writing, drafting and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and strong time‑management/prioritization capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with global teams and manage cross‑border enforcement matters.

6–8 years of professional legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house IP or brand protection role; at least five years of relevant practice is expected.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice in New York or New Jersey.
