Tiffany & Co. Casting Process Engineer in Cumberland, USA. Lead NPI casting optimization and process validation for precision jewelry manufacturing.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead casting design validation by analyzing simulation data and physical trial casting results to identify potential defects and quality issues
  • Utilize advanced casting simulation software to evaluate variables impacting casting quality and develop strategies to reduce scrap rates
  • Collaborate with CAD and Engineering teams to iterate on casting designs, balancing manufacturability, mechanical properties, and aesthetic requirements
  • Manage trial casting activities including coordinating work orders, scheduling test runs, and establishing acceptance criteria for prototype parts
  • Perform hands-on evaluation of cast parts including dimensional inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and conformity verification
  • Apply lean manufacturing and quality tools to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and casting defect sources early in the NPI process
  • Drive continuous innovation by researching emerging casting technologies, materials, and process improvements including additive manufacturing and automation
  • Document findings and communicate results effectively to stakeholders to support timely decision-making and minimize development cycle time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in casting process development, preferably within the jewelry industry
  • Strong proficiency in Root Cause Analysis methods and complex problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced NPI environment
  • Understanding of metallurgical fundamentals relevant to precious metals
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, particularly Rhino and/or Solidworks
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and process control techniques
