Experienced Jeweler at Tiffany & Co. in Queens, New York — $28–$56/hr, luxury jewelry craftsmanship with stone setting and fabrication expertise required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute complex jewelry craftsmanship with technical proficiency in stone setting, soldering, laser welding, and all skilled fabrication techniques
- Specialize in high jewelry stone setting with center and colored stones, serving as the go-to technician for complex assignments
- Assist the Lead Jeweler in technical development and candidate bench testing for new hires and technicians at all jewelry craft levels
- Perform intricate engineering and fabrication projects including adjustable shank installation on high-value rings, pendant and brooch modifications, gallery reconstruction, watch case repair, and bespoke alterations
- Collaborate with CAD technicians to develop custom parts, solutions, and engineering designs for high jewelry items and valued client pieces
- Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to less experienced team members, fostering skill development across the workshop
- Support high jewelry events and client-facing technical demonstrations, which may require travel
- Maintain exemplary workshop safety standards, educate team members on occupational health and safety protocols, and ensure compliance with all hazardous material handling procedures
- Complete all craft work according to Tiffany quality and design standards, inspecting orders for defects and escalating issues appropriately
- Maintain an organized bench and workspace, manage assigned orders to meet due dates, and coordinate parts, metals, and materials according to established procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of professional jewelry craftsmanship experience
- Demonstrated expertise in diamond and colored-stone setting
- Proficiency in soldering and laser welding techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fluent English language skills in reading, writing, and verbal communication
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to luxury quality standards
- Strong organizational abilities with capacity to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks
- Proven ability to work independently and exercise strong initiative without constant direction
- Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to shift priorities quickly to meet dynamic business needs and work flexible schedules including overtime and weekends
