Tiffany & Co. seeks Director of Store Planning and Construction in New York to lead North American retail projects. $159K–$230K plus bonus.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and tactical leadership to ensure optimal project and brand delivery across all North American store formats
- Create and maintain a culture of highest performance standards and quality from construction, sourcing, vendors, and internal teams
- Continuously evaluate performance of internal and external resources and implement improvements to ensure optimal organizational functioning and vendor pool quality
- Negotiate and coordinate design and technical requirements, strategic scheduling, budgeting, and hiring across regional projects
- Develop design and business acumen accounting for regional context, clientele, and market practices
- Oversee and coordinate regional Store Planning teams to ensure timely project completion and punch-list closure within one month of store opening
- Liaison with regional leads to strategically plan, budget, prioritize, and assess new locations and renovation opportunities
- Establish competitive bidding, contract administration, and project-related legal and financial controls in collaboration with Divisional Finance and Legal
- Establish qualification standards for project-related consultants, vendors, and construction service providers
- Conduct regular post-opening project audits and identify areas for improvement in project development and materials
- Support Store Design in research and development programs and prototype evaluation
- Identify regional efficiencies, resources, and sourcing practices for implementation across projects
- Collaborate with Global Procurement to propose and implement efficiency improvement programs
- Review lease requirements, architectural drawings, shop drawings, and renderings with appropriate departments
- Provide value engineering guidance and recommendations
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in architecture and/or construction with relevant degree
- Proven experience managing flagship store projects
- Strong interpersonal, communication, project management, and people management skills
- Demonstrated ability as a self-starter with proven capacity to organize teams around competing priorities
- Effective experience working with cross-functional teams and fostering collaborative thinking
- Client-focused approach with demonstrated ability to create alignment across stakeholders
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in architecture and/or construction, with demonstrated expertise in managing flagship and high-end retail store projects, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering complex projects to luxury brand standards.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
