Tiffany & Co. seeks Director, Global Diamond & Materials Planning in New York to lead precious metals and stones supply chain strategy, planning, and inventory optimization.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end planning for diamonds, gemstones, and precious metals, spanning supply strategy, acquisition timing, production requirements, and inventory optimization
- Design and maintain planning governance, decision rights, and standard work; lead monthly S&OP cadence to review demand, supply, inventory, capacity constraints, and procurement plans
- Partner with Industrial Planning to translate business demand into acquisition requirements and timing, including scenario planning for constraints and lead times
- Collaborate with Inventory Planning to manage demand changes, service-level targets, and exception management based on risks and opportunities
- Partner with Finance to inform precious metal exposure management, hedging decisions, and working capital strategies aligned to sourcing and production
- Optimize inventory and working capital by setting targets for months of supply, safety stock, and excess/obsolete materials; drive cross-functional actions to reduce excess inventory
- Influence material choices in new product development by identifying opportunities to consume excess inventory and communicating procurement/obsolescence risks early
- Partner with Procurement and Sourcing on supplier strategy, negotiation inputs, allocation decisions, and disposition planning for excess or non-conforming materials
- Drive cross-functional alignment to integrate materials planning across stones and metals, ensuring synchronized decisions from sourcing through manufacturing and distribution
- Own reporting and analysis to provide visibility into demand vs. supply, inventory health, purchases, WIP, and key constraints; translate insights into clear decisions and actions
- Lead continuous improvement across planning processes, data quality, and tools (ERP/MRP, analytics, automation) to improve forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and decision velocity
- Lead, coach, and develop the planning team through hiring, performance management, capability building, and succession planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Analytics, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- 10–15+ years of progressive experience in supply planning, inventory planning, demand/supply balancing, or category planning with people leadership
- Proven experience planning in complex, constrained supply environments with long lead times, commodity/assortment constraints, or multi-tier supplier networks
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with demonstrated ability to translate data into actions that improve service, cost, and working capital
- Fluency with planning and analytics tools including ERP/MRP systems, APS, BI/reporting platforms, and advanced Excel; demonstrated experience improving master data and automating reporting
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with proven ability to influence decisions across functions and organizational levels
- Demonstrated ability to build inclusive, high-performing teams with commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; proven success thriving in and building new processes within dynamic, evolving environments

Experience
Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, demand/supply planning, or category planning roles with demonstrated people leadership and success navigating complex, constrained supply environments with extended lead times and multiple supplier tiers.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Analytics, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 165,495 to USD 210,000 per annum.
