Tiffany & Co. seeks Assistant Manager, Material Operations in Queens, NY. Lead operations, manage staff, and drive process improvements in this permanent luxury jewelry role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day operations of the Material Operations department in conjunction with the department Manager
  • Oversee staff and workflow management to ensure repair orders are issued both systematically and physically
  • Provide oversight of repair estimate pricing, timing, and the direct-from-customer repair process
  • Offer management support, direction, and development for departmental staff
  • Update and maintain all schedules to ensure adequate coverage
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of new processes and projects
  • Set goals that align with luxury brand standards and customer expectations
  • Measure results through daily order reporting, production reporting, and quality monitoring
  • Identify obstacles and opportunities that affect team daily success
  • Hold team and self accountable to consistently produce high-quality work
  • Implement and monitor process improvements
  • Foster a healthy and safe workplace by promoting internal wellness and safety programs
  • Provide leadership by setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable
  • Hire top talent capable of growth within one or two levels
  • Develop current talent by closing skill gaps through projects and stretch assignments
  • Effectively manage employee performance and provide coaching
  • Collaborate with Manager to coach, develop, and delegate work effectively
  • Cross-train departmental and facility-wide staff to create operational flexibility
  • Plan and forecast departmental needs based on historical trends
  • Demonstrate financial acumen and business understanding to develop departmental strategies
  • Understand industry, corporate, and departmental regulations to manage team appropriately
  • Manage workflow to ensure work progresses through all applicable functions
  • Conduct ROI analysis on departmental actions and decisions
  • Develop contingency plans to maintain financial goals amid business changes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3 years of business experience with management background
  • Strong initiative and ability to work without constant direction
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and provide resolution for areas of improvement
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong English language usage with grammatical and communication skills
  • Flexibility with schedule and assignments; willingness to work overtime including possible weekends during holiday season
  • High ability to collaborate, build strong business relations, and influence without direct authority

Experience

Minimum 3 years of business experience with a background in management. Bachelor's degree required.
