Kate Spade New York is hiring a Senior Store Leader in Central Valley, New York to lead store operations, client development and a sales team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead client development and retention by modeling proactive outreach, managing personal business trade and ensuring associates routinely leverage their client books.
  • Design and implement initiatives to drive repeat business and attract new customers; conduct monthly client book reviews and enforce clienteling standards and thank-you note policy.
  • Coach and develop the sales team through structured sales training, consistent in-store coaching and performance feedback to maximize customer service and conversion.
  • Hire, onboard and motivate a qualified sales team; assign accountabilities and provide targeted development for assistant managers and supervisors.
  • Drive store financial performance by monitoring key metrics and reacting to selling trends to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Ensure brand presentation by implementing visual merchandising directives and maintaining store aesthetic and merchandising standards.
  • Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, bank deposits, scheduling and payroll budget management.
  • Manage inventory integrity: supervise markdowns, transfers, damages, receiving and shipping processes and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Maintain full compliance with loss prevention policies and procedures and conduct regular store meetings to ensure consistent team communication.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback and product quality issues to district leadership to inform assortment and service improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years management experience in luxury goods or a comparable retail environment.
  • Prior experience within luxury goods is preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop sales through clienteling and proactive outreach.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with experience delivering performance reviews and developing direct reports.
  • Analytical capability to interpret selling reports, identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Comfortable making decisions and mediating conflict within a team environment.
  • Proficient with Windows-based software, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Available to work a retail schedule including evenings and weekends; able to stand for prolonged periods, climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
