Tapestry seeks a Senior Product Engineering Manager in Indonesia to oversee product integrity, engineering validation and manufacturing collaboration.
Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as the exclusive Product Development liaison between the Asia Product Development team, on-site operations team and service providers (SPs), facilitating real-time two-way feedback and resolving communication barriers in the product development process.
- Communicate and reinforce design intent, product quality expectations and global brand standards for finished goods to on-site teams and all SPs, preventing information deviation during transmission.
- Support implementation of approved changes and design updates by verifying understanding and execution at the SP level.
- Collaborate with internal Engineering and Product Development teams to validate SP output and confirm deliverables align with the original design and overall product direction.
- Identify and promptly flag discrepancies or risks involving material application, craftsmanship interpretation or deviations from approved specifications; escalate critical issues to internal stakeholders with structured solution recommendations.
- Build in-depth product knowledge through LO/Market product handover meetings and guide SPs in following design intent and quality standards throughout the production cycle.
- Coordinate with the Lead Engineer to maintain engineering documentation, including best-practice guidelines, SOPs and test reports; evaluate craftsmanship innovation solutions and align with the Lead Engineer before mass production rollout.
- Partner with Product Development leadership to assess technical feasibility and cost-optimization potential for proposed product upgrades, and enhance regional third-party manufacturing capabilities to improve bulk-order production flexibility.
- Identify product non-conformities, coordinate with the regional hub team to initiate required official product audits, and follow up with the on-site team on corrective solutions.
- Act as Product Owner from LO/Market through SP delivery, ensuring alignment with brand vision; serve as the Product Development Representative and on-site voice, translating product strategy into local action and enabling collaboration among SPs, on-site teams, Product Development and Engineering.
- Protect product integrity by maintaining design intent and product consistency.
