Tapestry seeks a Senior Manager of Tax Reporting and Compliance in New York to lead global income tax provision and U.S. tax compliance processes, $130,000–$160,000.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead development and review of quarterly and annual global income tax provision processes under ASC 740, including U.S. current and deferred tax calculations and supporting analyses
  • Review and validate effective tax rate analyses, tax account reconciliations, return-to-provision adjustments, deferred tax assets and liabilities, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and tax reserves
  • Perform and document quarterly assessments of uncertain tax positions and related tax reserves, coordinating with external advisors and independent auditors
  • Prepare and review income tax disclosures for Forms 10-Q and 10-K, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Contribute to forecasting income tax expense, effective tax rate, and cash tax payment obligations
  • Partner with corporate accounting to ensure all tax entries, account balances, and disclosures are complete, accurate, supported, and recorded in the appropriate period
  • Conduct technical tax research and prepare tax position memoranda addressing U.S. federal, state, and international tax implications
  • Support oversight of preparation and review of U.S. federal consolidated and state income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments
  • Manage assigned compliance timelines, information requests, and deliverables, providing status and risk updates to the Director
  • Review complex book-to-tax adjustments and supporting calculations affecting domestic and international tax matters
  • Coordinate and validate tax data from internal stakeholders and external service providers
  • Monitor federal and state legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on filings, processes, cash taxes, and reporting
  • Support income tax examinations by managing assigned information document requests and developing fact-based responses
  • Identify and escalate material tax risks, significant judgments, unresolved items, and schedule risks to tax leadership
  • Maintain SOX controls, process narratives, and documentation related to income tax reporting and compliance
  • Support tax planning, transactions, and legal entity restructurings through technical and quantitative analyses
  • Collaborate with treasury, legal, FP&A, corporate accounting, internal audit, and business teams to incorporate tax considerations
  • Identify and implement improvements across income tax reporting and compliance workflows to strengthen accuracy and scalability
  • Advance the use of OneSource and related reporting, analytics, and automation tools with appropriate governance
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to tax professionals and project resources

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or related field
  • CPA certification required
  • 8+ years of progressive corporate income tax experience, including service in a Big Four or major public accounting firm and/or multinational corporate tax department
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 740 with demonstrated experience preparing or reviewing quarterly and annual income tax provisions for a public company or similarly complex multinational organization
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. federal consolidated and multi-state corporate income tax compliance, including book-to-tax adjustments, estimated payments, extensions, and return workpapers
  • Excellent tax research, technical writing, analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and corporate tax provision and compliance software

Experience

Candidates must possess 8 or more years of progressive corporate income tax experience, including substantial service in a Big Four accounting firm or equivalent major public accounting practice, and/or within a multinational corporate tax department. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing or reviewing quarterly and annual income tax provisions for a public company, managing U.S. federal and multi-state tax compliance, handling complex book-to-tax adjustments, and supporting tax examinations. Experience with SEC reporting requirements and familiarity with multinational consumer, retail, apparel, or luxury goods environments is advantageous. Exposure to international tax matters, transactions, legal entity restructuring, and income tax controversy is preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related discipline required. Master's degree in taxation, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
