Coach seeks Senior Manager, Product Development in New York. Lead ready-to-wear development from concept to production, manage cross-functional teams, and oversee supplier coordination. $105K–$140K annually.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional product development activities aligned with strategic priorities set by the Director of Product Development
- Partner with Design, Merchandising, Materials, and Technical Teams to execute development strategies from initial concept to commercialization
- Create and maintain seasonal development calendars and timelines in coordination with the project management office and all business stakeholders
- Attend design card handoffs and document all details required for product launch with external suppliers
- Coordinate development packages, materials, and trims distribution to sample rooms and service providers
- Launch and manage timely delivery of samples, mockups, prototypes, and other submissions from sample facilities, tracking all proto, line opening, fit, and pre-production deliveries
- Create and maintain development and production work-in-progress (WIP) charts and documentation
- Lead weekly cross-functional product development meetings and guide teams through prototype reviews and approvals
- Coordinate workload, communication, and direction to factories both domestic and overseas
- Attend fittings to guide cross-functional teams on product cost and timing for product approval
- Create and maintain Bill of Materials in EcVision system; review and update weekly WIP submissions from external suppliers
- Collect and evaluate costing submissions for accuracy at prototype, line opening, fit, and final cost stages; create and maintain seasonal costing charts
- Set target costs for materials and styles under guidance and approval from the Product Development Director
- Submit working costs in EcVision system at all development stages
- Mentor and manage a team of product development coordinators
- Attend seasonal buy review meetings to guide merchandising and global materials planning on MOQ and manufacturing allocation
- Support investigation and evaluation of new service providers
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve production and development issues
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in product development, costing, and production for fashion or luxury apparel
- Advanced proficiency with technical pack and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and EcVision
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple suppliers and coordinate international production logistics
- Strong project management and timeline adherence capabilities
- Proven experience mentoring and managing product development teams
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy in costing and specifications
Skills
Experience
10+ years in product development, costing, and production, preferably within fashion apparel or luxury goods. Prior experience managing cross-functional teams and coordinating with multiple domestic and international manufacturing partners required. Demonstrated expertise in navigating PLM systems and complex development timelines within larger organizations is essential.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 105,000 to USD 140,000 per annum.
