Tapestry in Tokyo seeks a Senior Manager, People Operations, North Asia to lead HR operations, compliance and a regional team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Align local and regional HR objectives with global priorities, driving consistency and standardization of HR operations across North Asia.
- Serve as HR Operations subject matter expert for local and regional HR services, owning service delivery and employee experience across both offshore and in‑house teams.
- Act as primary escalation point for operational issues and partner with cross‑functional teams to design and deliver process improvements and projects.
- Analyse ServiceNow (SNOW) tickets and trends to identify opportunities to enhance customer centricity, effectiveness and efficiency.
- Manage and continuously review the performance of third‑party service providers, driving service level improvements and optimisation.
- Own employee lifecycle operational excellence — with particular focus on onboarding, mobility and separation — and ensure HR processes are documented and maintained.
- Act as process and functionality owner for core HR systems (Workday Core Module, PeopleDoc, ServiceNow, etc.) and lead digitalisation initiatives.
- Drive employment regulation and compliance initiatives, monitor legislative changes, advise the HR community, and manage government reporting requirements.
- Ensure data integrity, privacy and audit readiness through regular checks and coordination of internal and external HR audits.
- Lead, develop and inspire a team of 5–6 HR operations professionals, fostering transparency, collaboration, inclusion and innovation.
Qualifications
- Fluent Japanese and English; Korean is a plus.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of progressive HR operations experience combining day‑to‑day operations and project delivery.
- Demonstrable expertise with case management and HCM systems (ServiceNow, Workday, SuccessFactors or equivalents).
- Deep working knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements in Japan (Korea preferred).
- Strong ownership and process‑driven mindset with proven ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical capability for data analysis and reporting to support decision making and process improvement.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing vendors and leading small teams; payroll experience is advantageous.
- Proven project management skills including discovery, definition and delivery of operational projects.

Minimum 8 years of HR operations experience with a mix of hands‑on operational ownership and project delivery. Proven track record using case management systems (ServiceNow or equivalent) and HCM platforms (Workday or SuccessFactors). Experience working with employment law and compliance in Japan; prior exposure to Korea is desirable.
Education
Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
