Role & Responsibilities

  • Own jewelry category strategy across channels, developing seasonal and long-term business plans to drive revenue, profitability, and market share
  • Identify growth opportunities across core, gifting, fashion, and trend-driven jewelry businesses through customer insights and competitive analysis
  • Conduct regular business analysis and recommend strategic actions to improve category performance and commercial success
  • Lead assortment creation and seasonal line planning, ensuring balanced offerings of core programs, newness, and trend-right product
  • Analyze global sales data, consumer feedback, market trends, and insights to inform product development and assortment decisions
  • Partner with Design and Product Development teams from concept through launch to deliver commercially successful collections aligned with margin targets
  • Establish assortment architecture and pricing strategies across all sales channels
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Retail, and Ecommerce teams to create compelling product stories and customer experiences
  • Serve as jewelry category expert, influencing cross-functional and regional partners through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations
  • Lead development milestone meetings and category presentations; manage calendar coordination with cross-functional teams and deadline adherence
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while fostering a collaborative, results-oriented team culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 7+ years of merchandising experience within contemporary fashion, accessories, jewelry, luxury, or lifestyle brands
  • Demonstrated success owning and growing a product category
  • Strong understanding of retail mathematics and assortment planning methodology
  • Proven ability to translate trend insights into commercially successful product strategies
  • Exceptional analytical, presentation, and storytelling skills
  • Experience partnering with Design, Product Development, Planning, and Marketing functions
  • Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated experience managing and developing teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Passion for fashion, accessories, consumer trends, and the Kate Spade brand aesthetic
