Tapestry seeks a Senior Manager, Legal Counsel in Shanghai, China for strategic legal guidance and corporate governance across luxury fashion brands.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal counsel on corporate matters, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance across Tapestry's global operations
- Manage legal risks and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations in the Mainland China market
- Develop and implement legal strategies that support business objectives and protect corporate interests
- Oversee litigation and dispute resolution matters, coordinating with external counsel as necessary
- Advise senior management on legal and compliance implications of business decisions
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and external legal partners
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent legal qualification
- Admission to practice law in Mainland China or internationally recognized jurisdiction
- Deep understanding of Mainland Chinese corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory framework
- Demonstrated experience in a senior legal role within a multinational corporation or major law firm
- Strong knowledge of employment law, intellectual property protection, and contract management
Skills
Experience
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior legal management capacity at a multinational organization. Proven track record of managing complex legal matters, building high-performing teams, and delivering strategic counsel in fast-paced environments.
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), or equivalent legal qualification. Continuing legal education or specialized certifications in corporate law, intellectual property, or international commerce are advantageous.
