Tapestry seeks a Senior Manager, Construction Commercial Management & Purchasing in New York, NY to lead CapEx planning, procurement and financial controls for retail construction.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead North America capital planning for retail construction—new stores, remodels and refresh projects—aligning multi-year forecasts with Real Estate and Construction strategic priorities.
- Establish and manage project-level budgets from deal approval through closeout; develop cost benchmarks and templates to standardize budgeting practices and regional cost allowances.
- Oversee the Purchasing team and end-to-end procurement lifecycle for construction materials, fixtures and services: issue and track purchase orders, resolve exceptions, and ensure delivery to budget.
- Provide financial input to bid evaluation and vendor selection; support onboarding of construction vendors in BuyingHub and serve as primary vendor finance contact.
- Drive operational controls by partnering with Finance, Accounts Payable and Fixed Asset Accounting to prepare CERs, support close activities, reconcile CIP accounts and ensure audit readiness.
- Deliver timely CapEx reporting and analysis across the construction portfolio: maintain PSF benchmarks, produce variance analysis (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast) and maintain rolling forecasts and FAC metrics.
- Analyze cost drivers across labor, materials, fixtures and general conditions; evaluate cost implications early in design to influence value and budget outcomes.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of progressive finance experience with a focus on construction, real estate, or retail capital projects.
- Proven track record managing large-scale capital budgets across multiple projects or locations.
- Deep understanding of construction cost drivers, general contracting, fixtures, and design-related expenses.
- Advanced financial modeling, forecasting and variance analysis capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders and lead a purchasing/operations team.
- Proficiency with enterprise financial systems and procurement platforms (examples cited: SAP, Oracle, BuyingHub).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

5–8 years of finance experience centered on construction, real estate, or retail capital programs, including demonstrated oversight of large capital budgets, cross-functional stakeholder engagement, and procurement lifecycle management.
Education
