Tapestry seeks Senior Director of Litigation in New York. Manage disputes, eDiscovery, and litigation strategy across regulatory, employment, IP, and brand protection matters. $215K–$270K.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and direct outside counsel on various litigation matters, ensuring alignment with company legal objectives and priorities while supporting risk management and compliance initiatives
- Handle and manage litigation across regulatory, employment/wage and hour, commercial, intellectual property, brand protection, privacy and TCPA, and personal injury matters
- Provide strategic counsel to business units on litigation exposure, risk assessment, and litigation strategy development
- Represent company interests in administrative, court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings
- Prepare and review legal documents including administrative submissions, pleadings, motions, and agreements involving settlement, releases, arbitration, and waivers
- Conduct, coordinate, and support the litigation process including preservation, litigation holds, and eDiscovery across collection, review, and production phases
- Manage litigation budgets to ensure efficient and effective representation while maximizing risk mitigation
- Monitor legal trends and industry developments relevant to Tapestry's business operations
- Collaborate with Legal Department leadership on special initiatives, policy development, and cross-functional projects
Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years of demonstrated litigation experience in-house, at a law firm, or with government
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Admission to the State Bar of New York or licensed in another U.S. state with ability to apply for admission to the State Bar of New York
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for business teams
- Proven capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle a fast-paced workload
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and work collaboratively across organizational levels
- Comfort and demonstrated experience advising on a wide variety of substantive legal areas
- Preferred experience within fashion or other high-growth, fast-paced industries
Skills
Experience
Minimum 12 years of litigation experience, including substantive background in-house, at a law firm, or with government. Ideally, the candidate has worked within the fashion or luxury goods industry or another high-growth, fast-paced sector. Some experience with compliance matters and internal investigations is preferred.
Education
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; admission to the State Bar of New York or another U.S. state with ability to obtain New York admission.
