Role & Responsibilities
- Define and execute assortment, buying and allocation strategies to maximize sell‑through, margin and inventory turns across wholesale, e‑commerce and retail channels.
- Own seasonal merchandise plans and financial targets (sales, margin, markdowns, open‑to‑buy), translating strategic objectives into SKU‑level purchasing and allocation decisions.
- Lead, mentor and develop a cross‑functional buying and allocation team, setting clear objectives and performance metrics.
- Collaborate closely with planning, design, product development, supply chain and store operations to ensure alignment of assortment, timing and inventory flow.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships and negotiate commercial terms to support assortment goals and margin objectives.
- Leverage analytics and reporting to optimize allocation logic, replenishment cadence and inventory deployments by geography and channel.
- Implement and continuously improve allocation rules, replenishment strategies and inventory optimization processes to reduce aged stock and lost sales.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in buying, merchandising or merchandise planning within fashion, accessories or luxury retail — typically 8+ years with significant senior or director‑level responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to manage P&L responsibility, build category strategies and hit financial targets.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience setting assortment architecture, pricing and promotional strategy.
- Highly developed analytical skills and comfort with large datasets to inform forecasting and allocation decisions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills; experience working with vendors and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Track record of building, coaching and scaling high‑performing merchandising teams.

Extensive background in fashion or accessories merchandising with progressive responsibility in buying, allocation or merchandise planning. Experience leading teams and owning financial targets across multiple channels (retail, wholesale, digital) is expected.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, fashion merchandising, retail management or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
