Senior Costing Analyst responsible for collecting and analyzing global costing data to drive cost standardization, cost validation, and total cost optimization across footwear product lines. The role encompasses comprehensive product costing and analysis across seasonal milestones, factory collaboration to validate cost breakdowns, and cross-functional partnership to support margin analysis and efficiency opportunities. This position serves as the organizational champion for costing-related systems and processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, transparency, and operational efficiency.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assess finished-goods costing across seasonal development milestones (DP1, DP2, MARKET, Production) and analyze BOM, process costs, material prices, yields, labor, overhead, and logistics assumptions to ensure cost accuracy and compliance with Tapestry standards
- Conduct cost variance and sensitivity analyses to identify cost drivers and propose optimization actions while maintaining costing databases, standard assumptions, and cost models for consistency and audit readiness
- Collaborate directly with footwear factory costing teams to gather cost breakdowns, validate yield and tooling assumptions with material and technical teams, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support should-cost analysis and challenge vendor quotes using data-driven benchmarks; ensure all service providers comply with Tapestry's costing guidelines through clear instructions, monitoring, and respectful alignment
- Present costing insights and margin analysis scenarios to internal partners at headquarters product development; communicate costing risks, impacts, and recommendations proactively and clearly
- Manage costing calendar deadlines, track submissions and approvals across development rounds, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance costing accuracy and organizational efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in footwear product costing
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret complex cost data
- Solid understanding of product construction, materials, manufacturing processes, and cost structures
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas, financial modeling)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple product styles and competing deadlines simultaneously

Minimum 3+ years of direct experience in footwear product costing, including exposure to cost standardization, vendor negotiation, and supply chain optimization.
