Role & Responsibilities
- Research and interpret U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance to support accounting conclusions and compliance
- Serve as a go-to resource for internal stakeholders seeking guidance on accounting treatment for unique or unfamiliar arrangements
- Collaborate with business partners to assess the accounting implications of new contracts, transactions, and business initiatives
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in response to changes in accounting standards, regulatory environment, and company operations
- Assist in the preparation of technical accounting memoranda and maintenance of audit documentation
- Support the preparation and delivery of training materials educating internal stakeholders on accounting policy matters
- Engage proactively with subject matter experts, external auditors, and other stakeholders to align on accounting conclusions
- Prepare journal entries and financial disclosures related to equity-based compensation, derivative instruments, and other complex or non-routine transactions at period ends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Proficiency in researching and interpreting the FASB Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) and SEC regulations
- Big 4 or public accounting experience
- Experience working with external auditors and managing audit-related technical discussions
- Familiarity with accounting for equity compensation, derivatives/debt, goodwill, and indefinite-lived intangibles
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, highly analytical, and strong project management skills
- Excellent presentation skills to articulate strategies to internal stakeholders, including members of the executive team
Skills
Experience
Big 4 or public accounting background with demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP research, technical accounting analysis, and audit coordination. Experience should include exposure to equity compensation, complex financial instruments, and non-routine accounting transactions.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required. MBA and CPA preferred.
