Role & Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and establish rapport while demonstrating deep product knowledge across categories.
  • Actively listen and ask targeted questions to assess customers’ style and lifestyle needs, then provide personalised styling advice and complete-look recommendations.
  • Create add-on and cross-category opportunities through storytelling and by demonstrating multiple ways to wear products.
  • Guide customers through purchase decisions and execute efficient point-of-sale (POS) transactions to ensure a seamless checkout experience.
  • Maintain operational excellence on the sales floor and in the stockroom, including merchandising, inventory organization and loss-prevention practices.
  • Embrace omnichannel selling tactics and support virtual/remote client interactions when required.
  • Reinforce and celebrate customer choices to cultivate repeat visits and long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Professional selling skills with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Prior experience in a retail environment; fashion or lifestyle retail experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak retail periods and public holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift regularly up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs), climb, bend and manoeuvre across the sales floor and stockroom.
  • Willingness to learn omnichannel and virtual selling techniques; social media awareness.

Experience

Previous retail experience is required. Candidates with prior styling, personal-shopping or fashion/lifestyle retail background will be preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or training in fashion, merchandising or retail is advantageous.

This position is based in Elizabeth, New Jersey, USA, within easy reach of New York.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 15 to USD 19.50 per hour.
