Join Tapestry in Phnom Penh as a Product Development Developer overseeing handbag and accessories sampling from concept to commercialization.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the complete product development cycle from early conceptualization through commercialization, coordinating all sampling phases including prototypes, line presentations, and brand activation samples with timely delivery execution
- Support specialized production techniques including printing, laser cutting, embossing, and other advanced product executions whilst ensuring adherence to design requirements
- Coordinate with leather, material, component, and hardware suppliers across cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards throughout the development process and prevent production issues at early stages
- Conduct quality inspections of all samples before shipment to headquarters; collaborate with the engineering team to enforce quality standards and identify potential risks requiring testing and validation
- Facilitate connectivity between strategy, costing, materials sourcing, hardware, and production teams to ensure samples utilize correct materials and components meeting established quality benchmarks
- Lead handover meetings with cross-functional partners including product management, costing, and engineering to communicate design details, quality risks, special executions, and long lead-time collection requirements
- Maintain accurate reporting in the EC-Vision system and coordinate with planning teams on allocation and monthly transfer lists
- Conduct on-site visits to supplier facilities to verify sample execution accuracy prior to shipment
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of product development experience in handbags, wallets, or fashion accessories, preferably within a branded environment
- Strong organizational skills and proactive problem-solving mindset with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent development streams independently
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration abilities with proficiency in cross-cultural teamwork environments
- Comprehensive knowledge of bag and fashion accessories manufacturing processes with familiarity in fabric and leather properties
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
Skills
Experience
1–2 years of product development experience in handbags, wallets, or fashion accessories industries, preferably with a luxury brand; alternatively, exceptional fresh graduates with demonstrated potential are encouraged to apply.
Education
Bachelor's degree in fashion design, product development, fashion business, or related discipline preferred; however, talented professionals without formal credentials but with documented relevant experience will be considered.
