Tapestry Inc. hiring Product Development Developer in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to manage handbag and accessories sampling from concept to commercialization.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in all phases of product development from early conception through commercialization, managing prototype, line presentation, and brand activation sampling execution
- Coordinate with factories and cross-functional teams on leather, materials, components, and hardware throughout the product development cycle
- Enforce quality standards in collaboration with the engineering team; perform quality checks and sample verification before shipment to New York
- Lead or participate in handover meetings with product management, costing, and engineering teams to communicate design details, quality risks, special executions, and long lead-time collections
- Manage and update all required reports in the EC-Vision system to specified deadlines
- Conduct factory visits to verify sample execution accuracy and ensure compliance with product specifications before dispatch
- Support special techniques and custom executions including printing, laser work, embossing, and other advanced production methods
- Review and validate planning team allocation and monthly transfer lists; manage transfer development processes
Qualifications
- 1–2 years' experience in product development within handbags, wallets, or fashion accessories industries; branded experience preferred, or strong performance as a recent graduate
- Demonstrated expertise in handbag or fashion accessories manufacturing processes and familiarity with fabric and leather characteristics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Advanced English language proficiency
- Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural team environments
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proactive, well-organized, and result-oriented mindset with the capability to independently manage design requirements
Skills
Experience
1–2 years of professional experience in product development for handbags, wallets, or accessories, preferably within a branded luxury environment. Recent graduates with demonstrated excellence and strong fundamentals are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have hands-on familiarity with bag and accessories manufacturing processes and material characteristics, combined with proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex sampling workflows.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Merchandising, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent professional experience in product development within luxury or branded accessories may substitute for formal education.
