Coach (Tapestry) seeks a Product Developer in Dongguan, China to manage technical development from spec to sample for seasonal collections.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Translate design concepts into production-ready technical specifications and detailed tech packs (spec sheets, grading, measurements, BOM).
  • Manage the sampling process from first prototype through production sample, coordinating fittings and successive refinements with design and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, sourcing and costing to ensure margin, pricing and material feasibility targets are met.
  • Liaise with internal cross-functional partners and vendor/factory partners in China to drive timelines, resolve fit or quality issues and ensure compliance with brand standards.
  • Maintain accurate product documentation, track development timelines and report status against seasonal launch calendars.
  • Support quality assurance and compliance activities during pre-production and production, including approval of trims, materials and workmanship standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in fashion design, apparel technology, textiles, merchandising or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, grading, fit and pattern interpretation.
  • Proven ability to produce clear tech packs, spec sheets and Bills of Materials.
  • Demonstrated experience working with vendors and managing sampling cycles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence cross-functional partners and external factories to meet timing and quality targets.

Experience
