Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and own short- and long-range demand forecasts and sales plans across seasonal assortments, channels and key product categories.
  • Translate financial targets into merchandise plans (open-to-buy, gross margin, markdowns) and collaborate with merchants to optimize assortment and allocation decisions.
  • Drive inventory optimization and replenishment strategies to maximize sell-through while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence.
  • Lead cross-functional planning processes with merchandising, supply chain, allocation, analytics and wholesale partners to ensure alignment on flow, timing and availability.
  • Create executive-level reporting, present forecast scenarios and recommend actions to senior leadership to meet financial and service objectives.
  • Implement and enhance planning tools, processes and KPIs; steward data integrity across ERP/merchandising systems.
  • Coach and develop junior planners or cross-functional project teams, fostering rigorous analytical discipline and commercial accountability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Fashion Merchandising or related field; advanced degree preferred but not required.
  • Proven commercial acumen with ability to translate financial targets into executable merchandise plans and inventory strategies.
  • Strong leadership presence with experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience preparing and delivering clear executive presentations and trade-offs.

Experience

Typically 5+ years of progressive planning or merchandising experience within apparel, accessories or luxury retail environments, including hands-on forecasting, inventory management and cross-functional partnership. Prior experience leading planning teams or managing complex seasonal flows is preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Fashion Merchandising or a closely related discipline.
