Tapestry seeks a Patternmaker in Dongguan, China to support design verification, sample development, and quality control across Coach and Kate Spade New York.
Role & Responsibilities
- Verify sample structure, materials, dimensions, and specifications against technical drawings upon receipt of Development Confirmation
- Report design confirmation (DC)-related issues to team leadership and facilitate timely resolution
- Prepare sample patterns and paper patterns; compile and distribute documentation to relevant departments
- Manage follow-up on trial shells and production samples; identify and resolve pattern-related discrepancies
- Conduct quality inspection on sample appearance and construct; archive pattern documentation and share with stakeholder departments
- Apply protective films and materials to samples as required
Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Demonstrated experience in pattern making or sample development within a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance orientation
- Ability to manage multiple development cycles and timelines simultaneously
Skills
Experience
Experience in sample development, patternmaking, or apparel/accessories manufacturing, preferably in a luxury goods environment.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in patternmaking or related field preferred.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Dongguan, Guangdong, China, with easy access to Guangzhou.
