Coach Manager, Soft Accessories Design & Development in New York, NY – $129,605–$130,000/year. Full-time role managing product development and licensing coordination.
Role & Responsibilities
- Partner with internal design teams on seasonal development, product expectations, and deliverables to ensure clear strategic alignment
- Conduct comprehensive seasonal trend research and communicate color palettes and design direction to licensing partners
- Coordinate with internal teams to provide seasonal print designs and ensure all licensed product adheres to correct approval protocols
- Establish and implement approval processes with cross-functional teams to guarantee licensed products meet Coach's quality and design standards
- Secure tie-back materials across retail and outlet channels in coordination with the materials team
- Communicate ready-to-wear fabric specifications, leather grades, trim details, and licensed goods materials to the licensing team, capturing all technical treatments and washes
- Work with cross-functional partners to capture all critical dates for bulk projections and material orders
- Follow up with internal product development and production teams in Asia to arrange and ship technique swatches to licensing vendors
- Receive and manage material cuttings at sample and bulk stages, establishing seamless processes for sharing with licensing partners
- Maintain and manage the development calendar to ensure timely delivery of design information and approvals
- Monitor and follow up on all sample statuses for proto and show samples
- Support licensing accounts through all approval processes, including hardware, trim, and print specifications, ensuring alignment with internal standards
- Manage late requests to ensure products fit within development and production timelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion/Apparel Design, Product Development, or related field
- Four years of professional experience in product development, design coordination, or similar role within fashion/apparel industry
- Demonstrated experience examining sample garments on and off models and modifying designs to achieve desired aesthetic effects
- Proven ability to confer with sales, management executives, and clients to discuss and refine design concepts
- Expertise in selecting materials and production techniques appropriate to product specifications
- Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products with demonstrated artistic contributions

Four years of professional experience in product development, design coordination, materials management, or related position within the fashion, apparel, or luxury goods industry. Experience should demonstrate capability in managing seasonal product cycles, collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating complex approval workflows across design and manufacturing functions.

Bachelor's Degree in Fashion/Apparel Design or related field, or foreign equivalent.
