Tapestry Infrastructure Platform Engineer in New York, NY. Design and operate virtualization and VDI platforms ($130k–$140k, full-time).

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own the design and implementation of virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Nutanix) from planning through deployment, including capacity, performance, and lifecycle management
  • Architect and manage the VDI/HVD estate across AWS WorkSpaces, Omnissa Horizon, and Microsoft Windows 365 / Azure Virtual Desktop, encompassing provisioning, image management, and performance tuning
  • Build and maintain automation and monitoring stacks that provision, patch, and manage infrastructure at scale, eliminating manual processes and configuration drift
  • Administer Windows Server environments with working proficiency across Linux, networking, and cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure)
  • Design and operate resilient networking and cloud connectivity for infrastructure and desktop workloads, including routing, DNS, load balancing, and secure remote access
  • Translate technical roadmaps and early-stage designs into fully functional, production-scale systems
  • Oversee on-premise datacenter management and operations
  • Execute technical projects independently, including migrations, platform rollouts, and modernization initiatives from design through production cutover
  • Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to manage third-party provisioning, maintenance, and break-fix support
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation, infrastructure standards, runbooks, and security hardening protocols to ensure platform reliability and auditability

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with demonstrated systems-level technical judgment
  • Proven expertise in virtualization platforms, specifically VMware ESXi and Nutanix
  • Advanced hands-on Windows Server administration with working knowledge of Linux, networking, and cloud platforms
  • Demonstrated VDI/HVD experience with one or more of: AWS WorkSpaces, Omnissa Horizon, Microsoft Windows 365, or Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Automation-first mindset with proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python
  • Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible or Terraform
  • Demonstrated track record of owning and delivering technical projects at production scale
  • Strong observability instincts, including monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting in distributed environments
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
