Coach seeks an HR Manager in Shanghai to lead retail expansion, workforce planning, and talent development for rapid store growth in Mainland China.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead workforce planning and people enablement for Coach China B&M expansion, supporting 30+ annual new store openings and 137-store long-range plan growth through headcount forecasting and capability gap identification
  • Own end-to-end people enablement for new store lifecycles, including organization setup, role mapping, onboarding governance, manager coaching, and cultural integration
  • Drive superior employee experience and lifecycle management including onboarding, job changes, relocations, promotions, and exits in partnership with retail leadership and HR teams
  • Execute cyclical HR programs such as engagement surveys and year-end processes, and administer compensation programs, salary adjustments, and annual merit administration
  • Drive disciplined talent management for retail leadership populations, translating enterprise capability frameworks into actionable development plans and managing talent reviews, succession planning, and high-potential/critical-role actions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to multi-managers on organizational and role clarity, team effectiveness, retention drivers, and performance management standards
  • Partner with Learning & Development to design and implement talent development initiatives including manager capability building and ready-now programs, measuring effectiveness through participation and retention metrics
  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation, employee relations issues, and conflict resolution; conduct investigations and recommend solutions in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making, ensure compliance with global policies and local labor regulations, and partner with Finance on budget and headcount planning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience including employee relations, performance management, and HR operations
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams) and HR people platforms (Workday preferred)
  • Demonstrated change management experience
  • High levels of professionalism, judgment, and discretion
  • Ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and navigate sensitive situations effectively
