Role & Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of leather sourcing in Asia, ensuring materials meet Tapestry performance expectations and quality standards
• Partner with New York brand development teams to execute new leather developments aligned with quality, aesthetic, and price targets
• Collaborate with material, product development, and operations teams to ensure seamless transition from development to bulk production
• Monitor raw material suppliers and service providers for compliance with Tapestry quality standards; manage resolution of quality claims and non-conformances
• Work with strategic costing teams to optimize leather waste factors and maintain cost discipline across the vendor base
• Ensure raw material suppliers maintain EC Vision standards and escalate delivery or performance issues to internal stakeholders
• Support VP of Material Management during vendor price negotiations and contract management
• Oversee on-boarding of new vendors and manage the development of strategic supplier relationships

Qualifications

• 15 years of demonstrated experience in leather sourcing, manufacturing, and product development
• Expert-level knowledge of leather manufacturing within the fashion and luxury goods industry
• Proven track record in managing third-party vendor relationships and improving service levels
• Strong understanding of global manufacturing trends, innovation, and vendor capabilities
• Advanced analytical and project management capabilities with ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions
• Ability to effectively develop and manage leather raw material suppliers in a culturally diverse environment
• Excellent communicator and relationship builder capable of influencing change in a matrix organization
• Strategic thinker with hands-on problem-solving capabilities and comfort with shifting priorities

Skills

Experience

15 years of working experience in leather sourcing, manufacturing, and product development, ideally within the fashion industry. Demonstrated success managing vendor relationships, improving service levels, and implementing sustainable corrective actions to complex sourcing challenges.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field such as materials science, supply chain management, fashion business, or equivalent professional credentials and experience in leather sourcing and manufacturing.
