Kate Spade New York Communications Associate Manager in New York, NY, supporting PR, VIP and influencer relations, events, and reporting.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support management of external public relations and VIP agency partners.
  • Develop press materials, including lookbooks, collection product decks, and pitching collateral.
  • Identify and develop storytelling angles for culturally relevant outlets to build fashion credibility with target audiences.
  • Support the development and execution of communications-led events, including guest lists, event assets, and results recaps.
  • Partner cross-functionally on creative briefs and global requests.
  • Identify and vet new VIP talent partners who reflect brand values and reach target audiences.
  • Recommend seasonal product priorities for VIP dressing opportunities.
  • Lead product orders for press, VIP, and influencer dressing requests.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including research and data needs, scheduling, department organization, and meeting notes.
  • Support external PR agencies with day-to-day sample, image, credit, and copy requests.
  • Manage and communicate PR sample calendar needs and priorities with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead seasonal sample ordering for Domestic PR and VIP, and collect and track seasonal sample orders from Global teams.
  • Maintain and organize Communications team product samples and sample inventory and lifecycle.
  • Oversee gifting initiatives for Communications, including product inventory, allocation, packaging, and coordination with cross-functional and agency partners.
  • Liaise with Global Marketing and PR teams to gather press clips and create, file, and maintain archives.
  • Maintain global VIP records and archives.
  • Lead global reporting, including weekly recaps, quarterly reports, and project-specific recaps; coordinate with global teams to track press wins and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Coordinate product gifting, sample pulling, shipping, and tracking with influencers and content creators.
  • Analyze creators, make recommendations, and source benchmarks.
  • Co-manage the Communications team budget and process and track invoices.
  • Manage administrative work with finance and legal teams, including contracts, invoices, reports, and budget tracking.

Qualifications

  • College degree.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in Communications, PR, or Marketing, in-house and/or agency.
  • A strong understanding of the evolving fashion and retail industry, emerging trends, and drivers of cultural conversations among target audiences.
  • Sharp instinct for the evolving fashion, social, and digital landscape.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent judgment, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proactive contribution to team brainstorms and department initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to group discussions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Launchmetrics, Traackr, and Sprinklr.
  • Creative thinking and enthusiasm for bringing forward new ideas.
