Coach (Tapestry) is hiring a Collection Buying Manager (Women's Handbags) in Shanghai. Lead assortment planning, OTB and in‑season merchandising for leather goods.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute pre‑season assortment plans and depth buys in alignment with global OTB and regional strategies.
  • Provide product development feedback and collaborate with design, product and planning teams to shape seasonal collections.
  • Manage in‑season merchandising cadence: launches, training, pricing/markdown strategy, clearance and end‑of‑life liquidation actions.
  • Monitor and control buys across channels (brick & mortar and e‑commerce) and key markets (Mainland China, Hong Kong/Macau, Taiwan, Korea).
  • Own product information downloads and buy control processes to ensure accuracy of assortments and inventory records.
  • Drive inventory chasing and replenishment decisions to optimize sell‑through and minimize excess stock.
  • Communicate commercial rationale and presentation materials to cross‑functional stakeholders; coach and influence peers and direct reports as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4–6 years of buying experience within fashion or accessories, preferably with leather goods (LGs) experience.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
  • Proven strategic thinking, commercial acumen and strong analytical capability.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills; potential for people leadership.
  • High product sensibility and an ability to translate trend and consumer insight into assortments.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments; decisive and accountable.
