Role & Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a unique product strategy that meets and exceeds financial goals across leather goods categories
  • Drive sales and achieve financial targets for leather goods while managing inventory and profitability metrics
  • Analyze sales and inventory data weekly, monthly, and quarterly to inform strategic recommendations and identify growth opportunities
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the assortment through regular analysis incorporating sales performance, consumer feedback, and competitive insights
  • Partner with Global Merchandise team on line development to ensure business needs are met and product roadmap aligns with strategy
  • Collaborate with Planning team to manage open-to-buy and develop markdown and promotional strategies to achieve sales, margin, and turn targets
  • Own SKU planning and development to achieve category financial goals and performance metrics
  • Liaise with Supply Operations team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of merchandise
  • Work with Ecommerce team to enhance the digital shopping experience and optimize online assortment presentation
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Ecommerce, Field Team, and Customer Experience to execute business strategies
  • Conduct competitive marketplace analysis and gather qualitative feedback on product, customer preferences, and competitive positioning to identify assortment opportunities
  • Present category performance and strategy recommendations in milestone meetings to senior leadership
  • Manage and develop an Assistant Buyer, providing coaching, clear expectations, and career development support

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to own category performance including sales, margin, and inventory targets
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and leverage cross-functional partners across the organization
  • Excellent time management and follow-through on all responsibilities and deliverables
  • Flexibility and collaborative team player mentality in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to communicate clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Strong financial acumen and business acumen in retail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • 5+ years of experience in a retail buying role, preferably in omni-channel environments
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
