The role also oversees investment planning, project governance, cross-functional coordination, and performance analysis; employment is full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop a forward-looking business development strategy and opportunity pipeline aligned with Coach Korea’s growth ambitions, brand priorities, and long-term portfolio needs.
- Secure high-potential opportunities for new store openings, renovations, and relocations through proactive market planning and early engagement with priority landlords.
- Build trusted strategic relationships with department store merchandising teams and landlords to strengthen Coach Korea’s positioning and gain early access to key opportunities.
- Lead discussions on store location, floor positioning, commercial terms, project scope, and partnership opportunities in alignment with business and brand priorities.
- Evaluate opportunities based on market and customer potential, competitive context, store productivity, brand impact, commercial terms, investment requirements, and execution feasibility.
- Prepare financial calculations and investment cases, including sales projections, CAPEX, rent and occupancy costs, key assumptions, and expected returns, to support disciplined decision-making.
- Lead each business development project through defined stages, from opportunity assessment and feasibility to internal alignment, global approval, design and construction, store opening, and post-opening review.
- Maintain the business development tracker as the central governance tool for milestones, owners, dependencies, decisions, risks, and actions; mobilize multifunctional teams and drive timely follow-through at every stage.
- Coordinate with multifunctional teams to develop project cover sheets, brief decks, and Global Store Development (GSD) approval decks, ensuring materials are complete, financially sound, and decision-ready.
- Review new, renovated, and relocated store performance against approved business cases and targets, including sales, traffic, customer profile, productivity, and investment outcomes.
- Translate post-opening insights into portfolio recommendations, improved financial assumptions, and stronger future business development strategies and opportunity assessments.
- Demonstrate courage by giving direct, complete, actionable positive and corrective feedback; addressing people problems promptly and directly; and taking negative action when necessary.
- Demonstrate creativity by generating original ideas, connecting previously unrelated concepts, and contributing value in brainstorming settings.
- Show customer focus by meeting internal and external customer expectations, gathering first-hand customer information to improve products and services, acting with customers in mind, and building effective, trust-based relationships.
- Deal effectively with ambiguity and change, make decisions without complete information, and handle risk and uncertainty comfortably.
- Drive results by exceeding goals, maintaining high performance, focusing on outcomes, and pressing oneself and others to deliver.
- Build effective relationships across the organization with rapport, diplomacy, and tact, and diffuse high-tension situations.
- Learn quickly when facing new problems, analyze successes and failures, adapt to change, experiment to find solutions, and take on unfamiliar tasks.
- For people managers: demonstrate strategic agility by anticipating future consequences and trends and developing credible, competitive strategies and plans.
- For people managers: develop direct reports and others through challenging assignments, frequent development discussions, tailored development plans, and support for career growth.
