Kate Spade New York seeks Associate Planner & Allocator in New York. Drive inventory productivity through financial planning and retail analytics.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyze historical business trends on an ongoing basis to understand business drivers, identify opportunities and risks, and partner with stakeholders to take action appropriately
- Support hindsight and market preparation by setting up planning files and partnering with the Buying team on pre-season key strategies
- Participate in seasonal purchase budget process to develop category and channel sales, margin, and inventory plans aligned with business strategies
- React to in-season business trends with timely recommendations regarding pricing, markdowns, and flow adjustments
- Support presentation of financial plans, forecasts, and recaps to leadership
- Monitor and manage aging inventory, recommending markdowns and promotional strategies
- Manage weekly product reporting package for cross-functional team
- Run ad hoc analysis to provide clear conclusions and actionable next steps
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2–5+ years of prior planning and/or financial analysis experience
- Exceptional analytical and retail math skills with ability to analyze retail business at macro and micro levels
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Strong listening, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
- Flexibility to multi-task and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Skills
Experience
2–5+ years of prior planning and/or financial analysis experience, preferably in a retail or luxury lifestyle brand environment. Demonstrated proficiency in store planning, allocation, and merchandise planning is essential.

Bachelor's degree required
