Coach Assistant Store Manager in Columbia, Maryland — lead sales, develop teams and support omni-channel retail for the Tapestry brand.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets through forecasting, category planning, KPI monitoring and tactical execution.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor to deliver Coach service standards and resolve customer concerns promptly, acting as a local brand ambassador.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach and develop retail talent; create a collaborative culture and maintain a robust internal talent pipeline.
  • Drive omni-channel engagement including clienteling, virtual shopping and customer data capture to enhance the customer lifecycle.
  • Oversee operational disciplines: scheduling and payroll administration, HR processes, loss prevention, vendor coordination and adherence to visual merchandising standards.
  • Partner with district and corporate teams to interpret market trends, inform store strategy and support cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in retail or service industries; luxury/fashion retail experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to inspire, coach and motivate teams to exceed performance expectations.
  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail systems; familiarity with omni-channel services and clienteling strategies.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and peak retail periods.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and perform physical tasks on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 18.50 to USD 31.50 per hour.
