Kate Spade New York hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Central Valley, NY (Woodbury Common). Lead retail operations, omni-channel selling and team development.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Co-lead daily store operations with the Store Leader to maximise sales, productivity and profitability across all channels.
  • Model and enforce Kate Spade service behaviours and selling standards to create a high-energy, client-focused environment.
  • Drive omni-channel and virtual selling initiatives, including clienteling, loyalty outreach and management of client books.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop diverse retail talent; provide regular coaching, set clear goals and manage underperformance.
  • Own store sales plans, forecasts and action plans; monitor KPIs (traffic, conversion, UPT, AUR) and coach the team to results.
  • Execute visual merchandising directives and maintain impeccable brand and operating standards on the sales floor.
  • Oversee opening/closing procedures, cash handling, loss prevention, inventory integrity, cycle counts and shipment accuracy.
  • Manage schedules and payroll within budgeted targets and adjust staffing to meet business demand, including peak periods.
  • Leverage social commerce and live stream shopping to engage clients and drive incremental sales.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle or a comparable consumer-facing environment.
  • Proven capability to recruit, develop and retain retail teams with a focus on performance coaching and inclusive leadership.
  • Strong communication, organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced retail setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and experience using retail point-of-sale and inventory systems.
  • Analytical aptitude to interpret selling reports, identify trends and implement rapid corrective actions.
  • Flexible availability to work nights, weekends, peak seasons and public holidays as required by retail trading patterns.
  • Ability to lift regularly at least 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and perform physical tasks on the sales floor and in the stockroom.

Experience

At least two years of progressive retail management experience in fashion or lifestyle retail, including responsibility for sales targets, team leadership and store operations.
