Kate Spade New York seeks an Assistant Store Leader in Auburn Hills, MI — lead retail operations, clienteling and visual standards at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead daily sales-floor activity and model Kate Spade service behaviors to deliver elevated client experiences across in-store, omni-channel and virtual channels.
  • Drive clienteling through proactive outreach, client books and loyalty-program engagement to maximise repeat business and lifetime value.
  • Coach, develop and onboard store associates; set clear goals, review KPIs (traffic, conversion, UPT, AUR) and manage performance to achieve targets.
  • Act as Store Leader in their absence, fostering an inclusive, motivating culture and building local community networks to support recruiting and brand awareness.
  • Own store sales plans and forecasts; create and execute tactical action plans to address business opportunities and optimise sell-through.
  • Champion brand visual standards and execute merchandising directives to maintain an impeccable store environment and communicate inventory trends to corporate partners.
  • Manage operational excellence including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, loss prevention, schedules and payroll budget adherence.
  • Support inventory controls, cycle counts and shipment accuracy; leverage live-stream shopping and social media trends to drive engagement and traffic.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of retail management or supervisory experience in fashion, lifestyle retail or a comparable customer-focused environment; combination of education and experience considered.
  • Proven leadership with strong communication, coaching and organisational capabilities; able to set priorities and drive results through others.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and experienced with retail POS and inventory systems.
  • Analytical aptitude to interpret selling reports, identify trends and react quickly with corrective action.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak season and public holidays; capable of regularly lifting 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally).
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership and the behavioural competencies outlined (courage, creativity, customer focus, dealing with ambiguity, drive for results, interpersonal savvy).

Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary education in business, retail management or related field and/or relevant certifications is a plus. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
