Tapestry seeks an Assistant Manager, Architecture in New York, NY to manage retail architecture projects for Coach and Kate Spade.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end delivery of retail architecture and store design projects, from concept through construction close-out.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, change orders and procurement in coordination with real estate, retail operations and external vendors.
- Produce, review and maintain construction documentation and drawings to ensure adherence to brand standards and local code requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, consultants and on-site teams during store roll-outs and store refresh programmes.
- Conduct site visits, quality inspections and punch lists; resolve technical and operational issues to ensure timely project completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (visual merchandising, store operations, procurement) to translate design intent into buildable solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Professional experience managing retail architecture or construction projects, with proven ability to manage budgets and schedules.
- Strong knowledge of construction documentation, building codes and permit processes for commercial retail spaces.
- Demonstrated vendor and contractor management skills, including negotiating scopes and overseeing on-site work.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to lead cross-functional teams and present to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to travel frequently for site visits and store roll-outs.

Experience
Several years (typically 3–7) of progressive experience in retail architecture, construction management, or project management with hands-on responsibility for store openings, remodels or roll-outs.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, Engineering or related field.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to USD 80,000 per annum.
