Kate Spade New York seeks an Assistant Jewelry Designer in New York, NY — entry-level role supporting seasonal jewelry design and CAD (Kate Spade New York).
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the jewelry design team through all stages of the seasonal design calendar, from concept ideation to final sample.
- Conduct trend, materials and techniques research to inform fresh, playful jewelry directions aligned with brand DNA.
- Create and maintain detailed spec sheets, technical packages and CAD renderings to ensure accuracy during development and production.
- Prepare seasonal mood boards and participate in presentations to senior design leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Maintain organized material libraries, component archives and reference samples to support development efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (development, production, sourcing) to resolve technical and fit issues and meet delivery timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, Jewelry Design or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- 0+ years of professional experience in jewelry or accessory design with foundational technical knowledge.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and CAD rendering for design communication.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and build effective interpersonal relationships.
- Demonstrated passion for the Kate Spade brand and a strong sense of taste and trend awareness.

Entry-level role; 0+ years of jewelry design experience is acceptable. Candidates with internships or coursework in jewelry/accessory design and demonstrable technical proficiency will be considered.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, Jewelry Design, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
