Coach (Tapestry) seeks an Assistant Designer, Special Projects in New York, NY — support VIP collaborations, accessories and fragrance design.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of VIP projects, brand collaborations and limited‑scope special initiatives under the direction of the Senior Designer.
- Contribute creative work across categories including handbags, small leather goods and specialty accessories.
- Assist with special projects linked to marketing initiatives, holidays and brand events, ensuring alignment with brand strategy.
- Support fragrance category work through research, concept development and attention to executional details.
- Create and update design deliverables such as sketches, CADs, presentations and line sheets.
- Assist with sample reviews, communicate technical updates to Product Development and liaise with cross‑functional partners.
- Track timelines, consolidate comments and manage project deliverables to support on‑time execution.
- Conduct trend, market and competitive research to inform creative direction and concept proposals.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development, Merchandising and Marketing to translate concepts into product.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in accessories design, including internships.
- Exposure to handbag, small leather goods or accessories design processes.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project deliverables.
- Clear communicator with a collaborative and positive working style.
