Kate Spade New York seeks an Area Leader in Central Valley, New York (Woodbury Common) to oversee multi‑store retail operations and team development.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and develop store leadership teams across the assigned area to achieve sales, margin and KPI targets while preserving brand standards and elevated customer experience.
- Coach, mentor and evaluate store managers through ongoing feedback, performance reviews and structured development plans to build capability and succession pipelines.
- Drive operational excellence across merchandising, inventory control, visual standards, loss prevention and compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Analyse sales performance and local market trends to implement action plans, promotional strategies and merchandising directives that maximise revenue and conversion.
- Manage staffing models, labour scheduling and resource allocation across stores to optimise service levels and operational efficiency.
- Partner with corporate functions (HR, People Services, Visual Merchandising, Loss Prevention) to execute initiatives and ensure consistent execution across the area.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable leadership and people development skills with the ability to influence at store and district level.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience translating KPIs and sales data into actionable business plans.
- Proven ability to manage multi‑site retail operations, including merchandising, inventory and loss prevention.
- Physical ability to lift at least 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally), to climb, bend, kneel and manoeuvre on the sales floor and in stockrooms.
- Authorization to work in the United States and willingness to travel regularly between stores within the assigned area.

Experience
Typically requires 3+ years of progressive retail management experience with demonstrated multi‑unit or district leadership; prior experience in luxury or fashion retail is strongly preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field preferred.
