Tapestry seeks a Hardware Costing Analyst in Dongguan, China. Drive supply chain cost optimization through analytics, vendor negotiations, and strategic costing models.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide hardware procurement trend and variance analysis using Supply Chain Analytics to support annual vendor negotiations
- Conduct end-to-end hardware cost modeling and benchmarking across categories; analyze material consumption and processing costs across the supply base and propose aligned standards
- Measure hardware product complexity for individual suppliers and derive productivity targets as a basis for supplier performance evaluation
- Partner with Product Development and Materials Sourcing to evaluate supplier quotations, validate costing assumptions, and support fact-based negotiation strategies
- Travel to manufacturing locations as needed to conduct on-site cost analysis and supplier assessments
- Maintain and enhance costing databases and reporting dashboards, ensuring data integrity, timeliness, and alignment with global costing standards
- Execute ad hoc analytical tasks assigned by leadership
Qualifications
- Proficiency in advanced Excel, SQL, Power BI, and ERP systems to extract, clean, analyze, and present complex supply chain data
- Demonstrated ability to build, validate, and interpret detailed bottom-up cost models for hardware components
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, bill-of-materials (BOM) structures, and supply base dynamics
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability to break down complex cost structures into actionable drivers and identify root causes of variances
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling, assumptions, and reporting
- Proactive communication skills to articulate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through dashboards, presentations, and executive summaries
Skills
Experience
Candidates should demonstrate substantive professional experience in cost analysis, supply chain operations, or related analytical roles. Experience with hardware procurement costing, vendor management, or manufacturing cost optimization is strongly preferred. Proven success in building and maintaining large-scale costing models and dashboards is essential.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
