Role & Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day fixed assets accounting operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance across the asset lifecycle.
- Record and maintain full-cycle fixed asset transactions including acquisitions, capitalization, depreciation and disposals/write‑offs.
- Track construction‑in‑progress (CIP) accounts and ensure timely transfers to fixed assets upon project completion.
- Calculate and record asset retirement obligations (ARO) and related interest under IFRS, ensuring correct recognition of assets and liabilities.
- Own key components of the monthly close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliation and supporting schedules; ensure completeness and timely submission.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, supplying timely and accurate documentation during statutory audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements by leveraging AI and system capabilities (e.g., Copilot, automation tools) to increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with regional controlling and accounting teams to provide cross‑coverage and support during peak close periods and projects.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, preferably within a multinational environment.
- Practical knowledge of fixed assets accounting, full asset lifecycle and construction‑in‑progress accounting.
- Understanding of depreciation methodologies (straight‑line and declining balance) and ARO treatment under IFRS.
- Experience supporting month‑end close activities, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑market environment with strong ownership and accountability.
Skills
Experience
At least 2–3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance functions, with hands‑on exposure to fixed assets accounting and month‑end close processes; experience in a multinational or multi‑brand retail environment is preferred.
Education
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Singapore, Central, Singapore.
