Tapestry seeks an AI Engineering Manager in Shanghai to lead AI agent and RAG deployments across Coach and Kate Spade New York.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of AI-centric initiatives—scoping, architecture, resource planning, execution, testing, deployment and post-launch optimisation—with a focus on AI agents, RAG systems and automated decision workflows.
- Translate business use cases into scalable technical architectures, ensuring alignment with data, infrastructure and product roadmaps and defining measurable KPIs for performance, accuracy, latency and adoption.
- Architect and oversee RAG pipelines including document ingestion, embedding models, vector databases, retrieval logic and LLM integration; guide development of autonomous AI agents and orchestration layers.
- Champion MLOps and engineering excellence: dataset/model versioning, reproducible pipelines, CI/CD for AI, A/B testing of model outputs and production-grade backend services (APIs, event-driven microservices).
- Define and enforce observability, logging and monitoring for AI workflows to support debugging, auditing and continuous improvement; implement Infrastructure-as-Code and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Serve as the primary liaison between AI engineering, product, security, compliance and business stakeholders; present designs, risks and progress to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Coordinate a hybrid team of internal engineers and vendor partners; assign work, monitor delivery, foster knowledge sharing, and mentor junior engineers on AI/ML best practices and responsible AI principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience delivering production-grade AI/ML projects—specifically involving AI agents, RAG systems or intelligent workflow automation.
- Proven software engineering background with experience leading technical teams and managing complex delivery timelines.
- Fluent spoken and written English and Mandarin (essential) for global collaboration.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

At least 2 years of demonstrable, hands-on experience delivering production AI/ML systems—experience must include agent-based solutions, RAG architectures or intelligent workflow automation—and prior responsibility for leading engineering delivery and vendor/in-house teams.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
