Role & Responsibilities
- Process and code supplier invoices, expense reports and credit memos in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
- Execute payment runs (ACH, wire, check) and ensure timely settlement of vendor balances.
- Perform vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies through direct vendor communication and internal research.
- Match purchase orders, receiving records and invoices; manage three-way PO matching and exception resolution.
- Support month-end close activities for accounts payable, including accruals, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and update vendor master data and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory documentation requirements.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and partner with procurement and business stakeholders to resolve invoicing disputes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including AP automation, process standardization and SOX/compliance activities.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or retail environment.
- Demonstrable attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable controls and basic accounting principles (GAAP).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and comfort learning ERP systems.
- High level of integrity and experience operating within a SOX-compliant framework is preferred.

Typically requires 1–3 years of progressive accounts payable or general accounting experience, including hands-on invoice processing, reconciliations and month-end support. Experience in retail or multinational environments and familiarity with AP automation projects is advantageous.
Education
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
