ArteCad SA seeks Technical and Process Manager in Tramelan, Switzerland—lead dial manufacturing excellence and process optimization.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and optimize dial manufacturing processes (machining, decoration, plating, finishing) in accordance with industry best practices and watchmaking specifications
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement plans to increase productivity, reduce manufacturing costs, and enhance product quality
  • Conduct ongoing technological surveillance on emerging production methods and equipment, proposing strategic investments to maintain competitive advantage and innovation
  • Provide specialized technical expertise to resolve complex manufacturing challenges related to processes, equipment, and materials
  • Establish technical specifications for manufacturing equipment, machinery, and tooling; oversee installation and qualification
  • Design and manage preventive and corrective maintenance plans for all production equipment to ensure optimal availability and performance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians and engineers; establish team performance objectives and evaluate results
  • Develop technical competencies throughout the team and production floor through training, coaching, and knowledge transfer
  • Collaborate across all company departments to ensure technical and operational coherence; participate in supplier selection and evaluation for equipment and materials
  • Contribute to technical investment budgeting and monitor expenditure; ensure process and product compliance with safety, environmental, and watchmaking standards

Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering, microtechnology, industrial engineering, or materials science degree (or equivalent qualification)
  • Minimum 8–10 years of confirmed professional experience in a similar role, with significant exposure to dial manufacturing or demanding microtechnology environments
  • Mastery of dial fabrication techniques: deep knowledge of CNC and laser machining, electroplating, lacquering, screen printing, and dimensional and aesthetic quality control
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, and other continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of materials used in dial production: brass, nickel silver, titanium, composites, and their properties and behavior
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent), ERP systems, and standard office applications
