Reporting to the Managing Director Europe and based in Signy, Switzerland, the Finance Business Controller sits on the regional Executive Committee and works closely with seven European subsidiaries. The role leads regional financial planning, consolidation, performance management and operations processes, and directly manages a three-person regional team. Permanent, full-time, on-site position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Contribute to strategic planning and development as a member of the regional Executive Team.
- Manage regional profitability and guide investment choices.
- Oversee regional financial management, budgeting, forecasting and internal reporting.
- Continuously improve financial planning and reporting processes using automation and advanced analytics tools.
- Monitor all distribution channels closely.
- Coordinate budget development and periodic revisions, collecting market data, checking consistency and consolidating accurate information for transmission to HQ, Division and Group stakeholders.
- Analyse actual performance against budget across costs, sales, investments and margins; identify variances and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory and legal requirements.
- Drive performance through accurate analysis of sales, distribution, SISO equations and product activations.
- Indirectly manage market Finance Managers.
- Coordinate and support Country General Managers and Finance Managers in budgeting and reporting activities.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and support local teams.
- Define a clear vision for operations processes, including demand planning, business planning and merchandising, and oversee regional projects.
- Work with IT teams to implement new functionalities and tools.
- Directly manage a regional team of three: a Regional Business Planner, an IT Manager and a Business Analyst.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in finance or economics.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a financial business partner role within a retail and wholesale environment; 8+ years’ experience is also stated.
- Good understanding of operations in a customer service-oriented business.
- Experience analysing and evaluating financial and operational performance data.
- Commercial acumen, ability to process complex information and influence investment choices.
- Experience with financial governance processes, including risk management and internal audit.
- Professionalism, conscientiousness, reliability and integrity.
- Ability to prioritise and plan own workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work proactively and independently, adapt to change and work as part of a team.
- Good knowledge of SAP, BO/BI, Advanced Excel and Power Point.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Strong transversal leadership when working with highly qualified teams, General Managers, CFOs and HQ stakeholders.
