Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the purchasing strategy for assigned watch component categories in alignment with the Director of Purchasing and the company’s commercial objectives.
  • Achieve target price, quality and lead‑time objectives through supplier selection, negotiation and panel management.
  • Develop and maintain long‑term partnerships with local and international suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring secure and responsive supply streams.
  • Act as primary interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders (Development, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Controlling, CSR) to reconcile technical and commercial constraints.
  • Perform category analyses including purchase variance monitoring, risk assessment, cost estimation and ROI evaluation for sourcing projects.
  • Propose and implement KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives across the purchasing process and with external partners.
  • Lead supplier panel evolution and manage supplier qualification, performance monitoring and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain or equivalent; alternatively an Engineering degree with a proven purchasing background.
  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in purchasing within micromechanics, watchmaking or a closely related industry (4–5 years acceptable with an engineering background).
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiation, panel management and category strategy for technical components.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in cost modelling, risk assessment and purchase variance analysis.
  • Excellent organisational rigour, project management capability and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • High ethical standards and ability to build long‑term supplier relationships.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in micromechanics or the watch industry, or 4–5 years of purchasing experience combined with an engineering degree; demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and category strategy.

Master’s degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain or equivalent; alternatively an Engineering degree with relevant purchasing experience.
